The Ibbamo Foundation will be hosting a charity Karaoke Night on the 30th of November 2016 from 7:30pm – 9pm in Sandton, Johannesburg.
Why should you if you are not a great singer? It’s all about having fun on the night and donating to an important cause – the education South Africa’s youth.
The organisers of the event are appealing to you to join the Ibbamo Foundation in this partnership for education, and make a donation to the foundation in the form of buying one of their sponsorship packages for the event.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the Diepsloot Combined School in Diepsloot for various educational needs of their students.
The Karaoke event
In addition to live karaoke sessions, where attendees will take to the stage to perform ‘till their heart’s desire’, there will be food available as well as great prizes and giveaways for those involved. Celebrated actresses Makgofe Moagi and Masasa Mbangeni will be hosting the event. Reputable personalities, politicians and business people have confirmed coming to the event.
What are the objectives of Ibbamo Foundation?
The foundation inspires and empowers young learners between the ages of 14 and 18 years. It provides a sensible agenda for self-development that will increase their self-esteem and leadership capabilities, as well as enhance their capacity to achieve in whatever context they find themselves in.
As an organisation inspired by Michelle and Barak Obama whose work since taking public office has touched the hearts and minds of every community in the world. Ibbamo Foundation is proud to share intellectually in this legacy.
Dr. James Makamba founded the Ibbamo Foundation to assist underprivileged African Children attain quality education. The foundation also seeks through education to prepare young Africans for future leadership roles. Dr. James Makamba is an entrepreneur with a diverse portfolio of interests covering telecommunications, broadcasting, retail, mining and consultancy.
What has been done?
Since 2009, the foundation has built a library at Mokgome High School in Soweto; granted scholarships to deserving students; and donated toiletries particularly to young female students to address their sanitary needs.
It has also organised career exhibitions to create awareness among young students of available educational and job opportunities. So much more needs to be done but limited resources are a big constraint. Who has helped so far?
Little Sun is a global social enterprise with offices in Germany and South Africa offering high quality solar products. Their mission is to distribute solar products at the most affordable price possible, in order to reduce the number of people living with limited access to clean sustainable energy. They distribute in over 10 African countries including Kenya, Senegal and Ethiopia. Little Sun is supporting Ibbamo Foundation Karaoke Night by providing Little Sun solar products as gifts to our guests. The Brazen Head will host the Karaoke night for the cause of charity. It is a few metres off Grayston Road in Linden Street, The Brazen Head Sandton is a 260-seater restaurant. Protea Hotel assisted with accommodation vouchers which will be given to winners on the night. Snap print has also come forward and assisted with printing services, that is, before, during and after the Karaoke night.
